A couple of weeks ago, completely 'by accident' I came across the Kenny Rogers video of The Gambler, and I ended up taking away -- well, you see what you think. The refrain got me. "You gotta know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away, know when to run". Beginning at the end: running away may be called for? Well, yes, I guess. But I'd class that as giving up the game. As for the rest -- what a great way to continue evaluating the game unfolding and unfolding and unfolding. . . I should put the link to the vid but it is on FewTube so maybe it's not a good idea?

Indeed, and while we're at check in with the Lord for discernment on the holdin', foldin', walkin' away and the runnin'!
Not long ago I was reminiscing with my dad about that song and it's lyrics. He was joking about how there's some decent life lessons taught in it as opposed to the garbage pumped out on the airwaves, even in country songs today.
