Hi folks. It's been a long time since I've posted anything, but I haven't forgotten ya'll. College work takes up a lot of time, but I'm out for the summer now, so I've got some free time on my hands.
As the title says, was Jesus riding shotgun with me in my Mustang Thursday afternoon? So, I started my internship this week, and I have to drive home in rush hour traffic in Nashville. I made it home, and as I was trying to back into my drive way, the lower control arm on the front wheel of my car snapped. For those that don't know what those do, the control arms are a pretty important component of your suspension. They help keep the wheels attached and aligned properly. Now, my first reaction was to get upset, but I stopped myself because I realized that at any point on the drive home, that could have happened, and the results would have been catastrophic. Had it occured while I was doing 70 mph on I-40 during rush hour, it would've caused a horrific traffic accident and the best case scenario I would most likely be in the ICU fighting for my life, but it waited until I got home. Instead of my wife most likely planning a funeral, we have to pay a few hundred dollars for some new parts. This brings me back to my question, was Jesus riding shotgun with me? I think so, and if that's the case, maybe I need to stop cussing in traffic so much too because I'm pretty sure he don't want to hear all of that. There is also a lesson to take away from this. Our tickets could be punched at any point in our lives and when we least expect it. Make sure you are right with the Lord, praise him every day, and make sure to tell your family that you love them every day before you leave for work. There's one more lesson to take away from this. I replaced those parts last year right before I left the Army. They should've lasted as long as the old parts which tells me that the money I saved from buying parts off of eBay motors was probably because the parts were cheaply made. If you buy parts, buy from a reputable source and get OEM or equivalent parts so something like this doesn't happen to you.
