Star Trek Fan Fiction Characters

I've been playing Star Trek Online off and on since launch way back in 2010. I've made several characters over the years, and one day I decided to write biographies for them. I've also made some entries on their ships. I recently decided to share what I wrote. I'm going to write some stories for them after I finish up with the character designs and locations for the other story I'm working on. Hope you all enjoy. I think most of my characters go more towards a DS9 type than anything else. The images are screen shots from the game that I fed into ChatGPT to improve the image quality. If you like what you see, let me know and I'll share the others.

Name:  T'Manda Letant

DOB:  Stardate 56805.84 (Earth Calendar-15 March 2380)

POB:  Calanista, Brel'Kar, Romulus

Service History:

Imperial Romulan Navy- 2398-2403

Starfleet Academy- 2406-2409

Starfleet- 2409-Present

Current Command:

USS Long Beach, Intrepid Class

Background:

T'Manda was born to a Romulan general and his wife, the owner of a sizable ale distilling operation.  Her family left Romulus for Rator III shortly before the Hobus supernova destroyed the planet.  Settling on Rator, they started work to rebuild their lives as well as the Romulan Star Empire.  Upon reaching adulthood, T'Manda joined the Romulan Imperial Navy where she distinguished herself in several skirmishes with the Klingon Empire.

Barely in her twenties, she earned her own command, but her career was cut short when her father learned that members of the Romulan government and the Tal Shiar had conspired to cause the supernova that destroyed Romulus.  Tal Shiar agents murdered her mother and father to keep that information secret, and T'Manda fled Rator III to seek asylum with the Federation.  She passed along her father's information to Starfleet Intelligence and was granted asylum on Earth.  She worked to earn her citizenship with the Federation, and when it became apparent that war with the Klingons was unavoidable, she joined Starfleet as a science officer.

Psychological Profile:

Captain Letant is a rarity.  Few Romulans wear a Starfleet uniform, and even fewer have their own commands.  T'Manda has not let this become an obstacle though, and she consistently rates among the best when compared to her peers.  Having no remaining family, she filled that void with her ship and her crew.  She considers them all to be her family and is fiercely defensive of them, but she does not tolerate instances of insubordination or dereliction of duty, which is something that some of her more rebellious crew members have learned the hard way.

As far as the Romulan people are concerned, she is essentially an exile, and even though the Republic officially views her as a hero, many of its citizens view her with a particular disdain.  While the Federation has been more accepting, there are still many in Starfleet who do not trust her either and think that she is really a Tal Shiar operative playing the long game.

She received disciplinary action early in the academy for breaking a fellow student's nose when he accused her of being a Tal Shiar spy.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  In fact, the Tal Shiar has an active bounty on her head and routinely runs propaganda pieces throughout Romulan Star Empire territory that paint her as a traitor and a murderer of the Romulan people.

While T'Manda becomes angered at being associated with the organization that murdered her family, she looks at her reputation among the Romulan people with indifference.  In her mind, the Romulan people are responsible for their own hardships, and after learning of the treachery that destroyed Romulus and Remus, she has mostly turned her back on them.

Despite her feelings towards the Romulan people, she has not forgotten her Romulan heritage and still practices many of the Romulan customs she was taught by her parents as her way of honoring their memories.  However, she has fallen in love with her new home.  She considers Earth to be her home world now, and she has proven time and again that she is willing to lay down her life to protect it.
