“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” (Deut.4:2.) I believe many people misinterpret this verse or perhaps I'm the one who got it wrong. With so many versions of the Bible I wonder if it really matters as long as the message is not lost in translation. Some versions I refuse to use (NIV) but many times I avoid sharing the KJV when words like heareth, thee, thy, ye (no, not Kanye) etc. are heavy in the verse. It is then that I will use the NKJV or even a Berean version. My posts are intended more for those new to Christianity so I like to keep them easy to understand in reading, but every now and then the old guard "experts" deep in theology try to correct me. I simply explain as I have just now done in this post and end with 1 Corinthians 12:5. Is it 'don't change a word' or 'don't change the message'? While I may veer from the Kings language, I do my best to carry the message as the Spirit of the Lord directs me. I guess I could be snarky and say we should be sharing everything in Greek or Hebrew (אבל זה יהיה גס רוח) Your thoughts are welcome. Zel the Zealot
